Why I Created Kitchen Table Talk
For years, I’ve watched too many women over 60 be told: “That’s just aging. It’s normal.” Or handed a prescription slip with little more explanation. And it broke my heart — because I know it doesn’t have to be this way.
I created Kitchen Table Talk to give women like you something we’ve been missing: a place where food, health, and confidence come together. A place where you can learn what’s really happening in your body, how to nourish it without confusion, and how to build habits that keep you strong, steady, and independent
Why you can trust me.
I’m Anne Bernardin — a Certified Diabetes Prevention Coach, Nutrition Educator, and lifelong home cook.
I’ve taught nutrition and cooking in classrooms.
I’ve owned a weight loss center, guiding women through real change.
And I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes for decades, which has given me a front-row seat to how much food truly matters.
This isn’t theory for me — it’s my life’s work and my daily practice.
Why I’m the Right Guide for You.
I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by conflicting advice, to wonder if the best years of health are behind you. But I also know the incredible strength, resilience, and wisdom women bring to the table at this stage of life.
That’s why I built Kitchen Table Talk to feel less like a classroom and more like a supportive gathering around a friend’s kitchen table. Here, you’ll find:
Clear, practical guidance you can use today.
A community of women who “get it.”
Encouragement and accountability so you don’t have to do this alone.
Together, we’ll make food your ally, habits your foundation, and health something you feel confident about again.
So pull up a chair — your apron’s waiting.
Kitchen Table Talk is your safe, inspiring space to learn exactly how to use food, lifestyle, and your kitchen to take charge of your health — without overwhelm, without confusion, and without giving up the joy of living well.

A Step-by-Step Path From Frustration to Confidence
The Surviving to Thriving Success Plan
Your path from overwhelm to confidence doesn’t happen overnight—it unfolds step by step. Our Surviving to Thriving Success Plan helps you move forward with clarity, encouragement, and real results. Here’s what your journey looks like:
✨ Stage 1: Awareness — Slow Down & Acknowledge Where You Are
Description:
Pause, quiet the noise, assess and take your first gentle steps. You’ll reduce overwhelm, honor your diagnosis or health concern, and begin building confidence in your ability to change.
Example Win: You take a deep breath, start a health journal, and realize you don’t have to have all the answers right now—just one small step forward.
✨ Stage 2: Knowledge — Your Body as a Science Experiment
Description:
Learn how food, stress, sleep, and movement affect your blood sugar. Gain practical tools and insights that give you a new sense of power over your health.
Example Win: You notice that swapping your evening soda for sparkling water helps you sleep better—and your morning blood sugar numbers look steadier.
✨ Stage 3: Confidence — Experiment With Your Habits and Routines
Description:
Turn knowledge into action. You’ll practice balanced meals, grocery planning, and simple daily habits that make food and lifestyle feel doable — and confidence begins to grow.
Example Win: You plan a week’s worth of dinners with extra veggies and discover how much calmer and more capable you feel at the grocery store.
✨ Stage 4: Balance — Stress, Sleep & Movement
Description:
Adapt how everything works together and then weave food, movement, rest, and mindset into a rhythm that feels sustainable.
Example Win: You start walking after dinner three nights a week, notice your stress fading, and realize you’re sleeping more soundly.
✨ Stage 5: Freedom — Live, Thrive & Share Your Wins
Description:
Live your self-health lifestyle by making confident choices and inspiring others—you’re thriving.
Example Win: You bring a colorful, diabetes-friendly dish to a family gathering and feel proud—not deprived—when everyone enjoys it.
👉 This plan isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress—building one win on top of another until you’re living the healthier, more vibrant life you deserve.
